Mr Postman was very nice this morning and brought me two sets of Fashion Fever furniture sets (the monkey chair & the desk) for the girls. Looks like I'll be doing some reorganizing of their weird living space over the week-end. I'm also planning a vegetable broth fast to cleanse my body. It'll be a good excuse to stay home & watch movies...
Speaking of which, if you haven't seen it yet, rush to the theater to catch Where The Truth Lies, by Atom Egoyan. It's brillant and twisted as usual.
Need a pitch ? Ok, two comedians, loosely based on the Martin/Lewis team, have split after the body of a girl was found in their hotel room in the 60s. Fast forward to the seventies. A young and very pretty journalist (reminded me of tibiloo) is writing the bio of one of them and wants to know what really happened on that fateful night.
And then, all hell breaks loose a la Egoyan, i.e., nothing's gratuitous, the plot is tight and conceived as if the viewers are intelligent beings and not popcorn-overfed morons with only a couple of braincells functioning.
You're all gonna love the "Alice scene", esp. the gothic lolita fans around here. And no, I won't say more on the subject. But it's the best mindfuck scene I've seen in a while and I'm quite the expert on the matter, being some sort of mindfucker extraordinaire myself.
BTW, if you've never seen an Atom Egoyan movie, go check out Exotica on DVD. There's more twisted lolita business to drool at/cringe/do both simultaneously in there. Oh heck, while you're at it, check out the rest of his movies. It's worth it.
Blythou out.
