The good :
- interviewing Nick Cave & Warren Ellis this morning about their new project, Grinderman. Along came Bertrand Burgalat, French musician, producer & record label boss, whose work I really love as well (he's a true genius. I still haven't figured out if he's truly unassuming or if it's part of an act... oh, and he's got a wonderful sense of humor).
- finally telling Nick Cave that I think he's got a great sense of humor. He seemed surprised I got it so right, because US audiences & journalists don't apparently.
- seeing the very elegant Mr Cave pocketing my package of tissues (he had some sort of cold) and smiling when he noticed the wrapping had a knock-off Tweetie bird on it.
- finishing my short story and getting nice feedback from my friend Ginger whose opinion I highly value, esp. on work stuff, writing, etc.
The bad :
- Finding out yesterday evening that our cable provider no longer carries VH1 ! I'm mad because it's my favorite TV channel and probably the only music channel which offers decent documentaries and funny gossip programs !
- Having the photographer barge in during my interview to take in-situ photos. The other photographer I work with do it all the time and I never mind because he's quiet. But she started opening the windows (thanks for the traffic noise), move the furniture around and "ordered" me to lay low in my chair because she could see my reflection in a mirror. Sorry, bitch, I'm working. Next time, I'll do my diva bit and tell you to get lost.
The skinny :
- I found one great pair of skinny pants at H&M and another one at the Gap. I used to buy them just to prove to myself I could pull that look off. But now, I like their streamlined look. And I also bought two pairs of boots, a couple of t-shirt/dresses things from H&M, some bras & Snoopy thongs, all that on sale ! Let's not forget a lovely grey coat, courtesy of Thierry (which makes me look like a Dickensian orphan according to Thierry. And yes, it was a compliment !)
Gotta get back to work. I've got a LOT on my plate...
