Remember how crushed and devastated I was when Monoprix stopped selling my favorite cake ?
Well, this morning, while shopping there, I saw THEY WERE MAKING IT AGAIN !!!!!! It was my grandfather's favorite cake, too and, yes, it might sound cheesy but I felt like it was a small sign from him telling me that things will be alright after all. I'm anxious and overworked right now and I needed that sign.
Of course, I didn't go as far as buying a slice because I didn't have a reason for that. Yes, I need a REASON to eat a piece of cake. And I usually plan ahead.
But I'll have a piece for Valentine's Day, maybe. Or something.

... but I have the feeling some superior powers are doing their best to wipe me out from the surface of the planet.
Everytime I like something, they close it/ stop making it.
And it happened again today. I always check at the bakery of my local Monoprix (small city supermarket) if they have that special cheesecake that my grandfather bought me as a kid. It's not the creamy, heavy U.S. cheesecake, it tastes more like the traditionnal Jewish cheesecake, very lemony and sort of spongey...
Anyway... They no longer make it. Of course, it's not like I had a slice every week... More like once every two years, but still, it's sad to see a little piece of childhood memory go away.
Thank God Nikki bought me a slice when she visited Paris last month (she had an urge to feed me for some reason). I enjoyed that cake to the last crumbly bit... not knowing it'd be the last piece I'd ever have.
Ok, it's not a major problem, but I can't help but feel like an endangered species.

Blythou (the real one, you know, the little plastic person) has an important message to deliver to her smallest, cutest, most lovable friend :

I still can't believe our smallest, cutest and most lovable friend is already a big one year old girl !!!!
She's changed all our lives for the better. Yes, I've said it before, but it's true.
Strangely, being very close to Margaux hasn't made me want a baby... Because I don't love her as some generic, cute baby. I love her as a small person with her own personnality. I'm often torn between wanting her to be a baby forever and wanting her to grow up so we can share more things (and not only Blythes and Littlest Pets).
Anyway... Have a fantastic birthday, Margaux ! Blythou and I are baking you a cake and we'll soon be around to smother you in kisses and cuddles.
