Like a Monday

Except it's a Tuesday.

The day started poopily with an Internet shortage while I was trying to browse my favorite websites while sipping my post-breakfast cup of green tea. Nothing upsets me more than a break in my comforting morning routine. I'm not a morning person at all, so I need little habits like those to make the whole "getting-out-of-bed-rise-and-shine" grind bearable.

My new doll has supposedly arrived at Charles de Gaulle airport and has left for delivery, but she hasn't made it yet. I need to buy fruit and vegs, it's beautiful outside, but there's no way I can go outside right now... If only the cats were trained to open the door to the mailman...

On a happier note, Pauline/[info]dollishrubbish  (who brought me from Tokyo the Fall Whisper outfit just texted me to tell me she had a little something for me. I sometimes have faith in humanity for a few fleeting seconds ;-)

Here's a pic of Eleanor (previously known as Violet) wearing her new outfit :

Next on my list, take photos of the new Funny Bunny tees and the House Of Pinku dresses I bought for the girls.

I'm currently trying to cope with a spell of bad karma. Apart from our lovely week-end in Antwerp that was a welcome respite, it's been one incident after another for the last couple of weeks. Everything is breaking down around me and this is becoming very, very annoying.

First, the clothesline in the bathroom broke with all the laundry tumbling on me. Then the showerhead started to fuck up real bad.

Then, we had a leak in the kitchen right after I got hit by an electric appliance on the forehead.

Yesterday, our modem fucked up, the hotline was helpless as usual so we fixed it ourselves. My wi fi router died in the afternoon so I have to stay in my office even when the brats from hell yell and scream next door.

And last but not least, while coming back from an interview, I was walking down my street when I felt something really hot zipping past my cheek. It turned out to be the still lighted butt of a fucking roach that the stoners/dealers from two doors down had thrown out the window. I freaked out and yelled at them to "PLEASE STOP THROWING YOUR FUCKING JOINTS OUT THE WINDOW ASSHOLES !"

I'm starting to feel a wee bit scared at what's coming next.

So... I sort of have an internet connection after some grandiose fuck-ups during the week-end (power shortage in Europe, all-right... But our provider COULD have mentionned something on their website). My connection is sluggish and sending a 160 Ko e-mail takes approx. 10 minutes. No kidding.

Thank god my usual boss is away and his second in command is way more flexible than him. I can have the PRs send the photos and visuals to his inbox instead of doing it myself (my boss refuses I do that because he wants to identify his mail quicker... It's not like he's super busy, he's just very, very lazy & disorganized & loves nothing better than turning his journalists' lives into nightmares).

I'm still down with that hellish virus that struck me around Liz's visit in Paris. Every afternoon, I'm drained beyond belief and can barely move. I spent half of sunday sprawled on the couch, trying to watch DVDs and yesterday was hardly better.

Tonight, I'll see Turning, Antony & The johnsons' new show with live video portraits by Charles Atlas. Sounds like the arty, ambitious stuff I love between two shots of low-brow high octane rock'n'roll. Speaking of which, the Bellrays are playing on friday and I hope I'll be able to make it. Their new drummer, Craig, attended our LA wedding in another lifetime.

What else ? Plenty of real life crap, doubts, the usual. I'll keep that bottled up for a while before spilling. I must be Lee Marvin & Clint Eastwood lovechild.
